Our Rogue Valley Community in Action
Peace House is pleased to announce the 2017 Peacemaker Awardees, as we celebrate our 3 th year as a community, united in our vision and actions for a peaceful world. Our celebration will take place on November 2, 2017 at the Grizzly Peak Winery in Ashland,beginning at 6 pm. Our Keynote speaker will be Asha Deliverance
A midwife, activist, innovator and mother of Taliesin Myrrdin Namkai-Meche, She hbeen speaking to large communities affected by the current trends toward white supremacy. Since her son’s death, Asha Deliverance has been speaking and developing “We Choose Love”, an emerging global organization. It has a mission statement honoring diversity and underlining the need not just for meditation, but for activism toward a positive society. She says: “My son left me with a job. … He knew we would carry through with all this. … I believe the true heart of this planet is going to find a way. We need to crack it open so the love can flow in. “Peace House will also be honoring the three heroes of the Portland Max Train hate crime, March 27, 2017 in which Asha’s son and Ricky John Best were killed and Micah Fletcher survived.
