Cuba – The Threat of a Good Example.

.According to the World Wildlife Fund’s Sustainable Development Index, the island of Cuba is the only country in the world with a sustainable model of development.

In the last year it has had one of the lowest incidences of COVID-19 and has sent thousands of medical personnel around the world to help other countries.

While many people around the world applaud this good example the US government has for 60 years tried to destroy it via a crippling economic blockade. The blockade reached an unprecedented intensity during the Trump administration and so far President Biden has done nothing to change that.

IFCO/Pastors for Peace has been taking Caravans of people and humanitarian aid to Cuba for almost 30 years in open defiance of the blockade.

Speakers:
John Waller – Pastors for Peace National Caravan Coordinator
Mike Beilstein – Frequent Caravan visitor to Cuba from Corvallis

Co-sponsors:
Pacific Green Party – Linn Benton Chapter
Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism;
Corvallis Latin America Solidarity Committee
Portland Central America Solidarity Campaign
Ashland Friends of Cuba

The program will last 90 minutes, including Q & A

Come learn about Cuba’s sustainable model and its medical achievements, hear about the next Caravan to Cuba, and many other ways you can support the campaign against the blockade
