SUMMARY:How War-mongering Now Includes a Nuclear War
DESCRIPTION:Code Pink invites you to attend a conversation with Col. Lawrence Wilderson May 25 at 5 p.m. on Zoom. \nThe war in Ukraine has brought a new level of war-mongering by the powerful\, not only echoed but amplified by the mainstream media. Notice how little we hear about negotiations and how repeatedly we are told that it is only more weapons that Ukraine needs. \nJoin us for a conversation with Col. Lawrence Wilkerson as he warns about war-mongering having gone nuclear: how the White House thinks it can win a nuclear war with Russia and how dangerous and disturbing this idea is. \nCol. Lawrence Wilkerson is an adjunct professor of government and public policy at the College of William and Mary and the former Chief of Staff to Secretary of State Colin Powell (2002 to 2005). He is a critic of U.S. foreign policy surrounding the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars\, Iran\, and the new Cold Wars with China and Russia\, and asserts that the U.S. is not a democracy but a war state that forces its will on the global community. In 2020\, Wilkerson worked on bipartisan projects to prepare for the possibility that a defeated Donald Trump would refuse to leave office. \nLearn More and Register Here

SUMMARY:TODAY: Ukraine Crisis: NO to NATO\, Yes to Peace with Russia
DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, March 1\, join CODEPINK Congress & Massachusetts Peace Action for the third event in the group’s Special Series on Foreign Policy. \nThis event is also co-sponsored by the Campaign for Peace\, Disarmament and Common Security. \nTensions between the U.S. and Russia are higher than they’ve been in many years. The U.S. insists that Ukraine may join NATO in the future while Russia insists that it should not. NATO has become a worldwide military alliance as the U.S. pursues its policy of a new Cold War against Russia. Will Ukraine be recognized as a neutral nation or will the U.S. maintain its goal of integrating Ukraine into NATO? Can Europe turn towards a common security policy before NATO’s June summit in Madrid? \nRSVP for the continuing CODEPINK Congress and Massachusetts Peace Action series here \n*Note: By RSVPing to this event\, you are signing up to join the CODEPINK AND either Massachusetts Peace Action or your local Peace Action affiliate’s email list \nFeatured Guests: \nCol. SUMMARY:US and Iran: The Nuclear Deal and Beyond
DESCRIPTION:Join CODEPINK Congress\, Massachusetts Peace Action\, and RootsAction on February 1 to discuss Biden’s reckless approach to the Iran Nuclear Deal – and what we can collectively do to put us back on the path to peace with Iran. \nA year into his presidency\, Joe Biden continues Donald Trump’s reckless policy approach to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action\, commonly known as the JCPOA or Iran Nuclear Deal. A violation of international norms and his own campaign promises\, Biden’s hesitancy to rejoin the deal as already-negotiated alienates the U.S. from allies\, and maintains deadly sanctions that harm the most vulnerable Iranians and weaken civil society. Learn how you can have an impact and put us back on the path to peace with Iran. \nClick Here to Learn More
