DESCRIPTION:From the Lotus Institute \nThe Insight That Brings Us To The Other Shore is a gift from our beloved teacher\, Thich Nhat Hanh\, and those who came before him. Thich Nhat Hanh has called the Heart Sutra “the highest vision of the Buddha.” Chanting The Insight That Brings Us To The Other Shore\, Nhat Hanh’s new translation\, can awaken the teacher in us\, the one who shows us the way to our own awakened nature. \nDharma teacher and musician Brian Kimmel (Bk) with Dharma teacher\, Peggy Rowe Ward\, will lead us on a journey of learning with and chanting from The Heart Sutra. In this workshop\, we will: \n\nChant the Insight That Brings Us To The Other Shore\nShare tips on learning the chant and practicing it for ourselves and with our sanghas\nPractice with our aspirations as a means to help bring this teaching into our daily life and where it is needed in the world.\n\nWhen Thich Nhat Hanh completed this translation at 3am in the morning\, a moon ray penetrated his room. Let’s come together to experience the clear light of the moon\, and the deep abiding wisdom of this Sutra and our teacher. \nPlease know: you are welcome. Even if you don’t think you have a voice\, even if you think you can’t chant\, sing\, or carry a tune – your heart can. We hope you will join us.

DESCRIPTION:The Lotus Institute invites you to a 3-day online retreat with Dharma Teachers Larry Ward\, Peggy Rowe\, Joe Reilly\, Ava Avalos and other friends. We are gathering to honor and practice with our blood\, spiritual and land ancestors. This is an auspicious time of year when many cultures have ceremonies and gatherings to celebrate our ancestors. \nEach day we will practice meditation\, listen to a dharma talk\, enjoy mindful movement\, and share in the healing energy of music.
