This fall our community will have an opportunity to engage in solutions-oriented strategy discussions about water in the Rogue Valley. The Southern Oregon Pachamama Alliance will host the 2022 Water Solutions Summit, a six-session series of discussions.
The group recently published the information about the Summit to their website, which includes descriptions of the sessions and a link for people to register for the free event. Peace House recognizes water as a critical and sacred resource, imperiled by centuries of mismanagement and has become one of several cosponsors of the Summit.
From the Summit webpage:
The vision for this summit is to be a space for holding community conversations in the spirit of an “environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, and socially just human presence” in the Rogue Valley. This vision is the guiding principle of our times – a gentler human presence really is possible.
One intention of this series is to increase our understanding of the Rogue Valley’s water sources and its distribution systems and the challenges and adaptations needed to face future impacts to these systems. Another is to discover solutions that work for all the beings who live here, human and otherwise. Participants, it is hoped, will sit together, share ideas respectfully, and listen for connections to allow the collective wisdom to emerge.
