Empty Bowls Supper Fundraiser for Food Security in Ashland – Photos

Ashland took this annual event to its heart with serving an overflowing attendence in Wesley Hall at First United Methodist Church, N. Main & Laurel Streets in Ashland on April 28, 2017 from 4-6pm. Participants selected a one-of-a-kind bowl hand-made by local potters filled with delicious soups prepared by area restaurants, plus bread and cookies. Proceeds will be shared among Uncle Foods Diner, Food Angels, Ashland Emergency Food Bank and ACCESS.

Underwriters are William and Sarah Epstein, Haines Philanthropic Foundation, Don Jones’ Spartan Management, The Patie Millen Group, John L. Scott Realty, Barry and Kathryn Thalden’s Treetops Foundation, True South Solar, and Wendy Seldon’s Earth & Humanity Foundation. Restaurants providing the soups are Bella Union, C Street Bistro, Greenleaf Restaurant, Maren Faye Caterers, Pangea, and Standing Stone. Providing the breads are La Baguette, Market of Choice, Organicos and Rise Up. Bowl makers include Clay Folks potters, Frank Phillips Pottery, Marian Telerski and Dawn Klinger, Robin Strangfeld’s SOU ceramic students, and Sam Sharf’s Ashland High School arts students.
