Veterans, Labor & the Fight Against Privatizing the VA and Medicare

6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
April 18

Peace House

Medford Library

Authors Suzanne Gordon & Steve Early will discuss their new book, “Courage or Complicity.” Military veterans, seniors on Medicare, union members, and health care reformers are all campaigning against privatization of traditional Medicare and our veterans’ healthcare system, which are two of our best working models for single-payer care. At this public forum, the public is invited to come learn what can be done to defend Medicare, win Medicare for all, and prevent the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) from being defunded and dismantled, due to costly and unnecessary out-sourcing of its critical services.

Suzanne Gordon is an award-winning journalist and author, who is cofounder of the Veterans Healthcare Policy Institute and author of “Wounds of War: How the VA Delivers Health, Healing, and Hope to the Nation’s Veterans.
Steve Early has been an active member of the Communications Workers of America for 45 years and has worked with several other unions and with Jobs with Justice and Labor for Bernie.
