Honoring the Teachings of Martin Luther King Jr.

The mayor of Ashland, Julie Akins, Ashland City Councelor Gina DuQuenne, as well as an ad hoc group of Ashland residents will be gathering Monday, January 17 at 12:30 p.m. at the Ashland Plaza to present Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I have a Dream” speech, offer a musical introduction, and community testimonials to reiterate an ongoing commitment to racial justice in our community.

The first-of-its-kind celebration will begin at 3 pm at the Southern Oregon University Music Recital Hall, 450 S. Mountain Ave., Ashland. No tickets or reservations are needed, and parking is free.
