Rogue Action Center will facilitate a free de-escalation training tin two parts: January 20 and 27th from 5:30 – 7:30 pm on Zoom.
“The RAC facilitates de-escalation training for community members to support local movements for social justice, and coordinates a volunteer team of de-escalators which helps de-escalate conflicts, potential violence and minimize disruptions from those who oppose movements for justice. Trained de-escalators can provide support to events and demonstrations in our region to help keep all members of our community safe in the face of growing right wing/white supremacist threats. We’re holding a de-escalation training over two evenings this month–Thursdays, January 20th & 27th from 5:30-7:30pm–for folks interested in plugging into this work and learning more about de-escalation. The training will be over Zoom.”
This training covers strategies and techniques for more effectively engaging aggravated individuals and groups, grounding in principles of transformative justice, and sustaining ourselves for the long haul while doing this challenging work. We keep us safe: whether you’re interested in being part of the RAC’s de-escalation team or just want more tools & confidence for helping de-escalate conflicts in general, this training is for you!”
