In our Rogue Valley, each vote matters

Vote by November 8, make your voice heard

Midterm Elections are coming right up on November 8. In just a few days the audible ripples about voter turnout, close congressional races and many initiatives will shift to post election coverage. If you haven’t mailed your ballot in yet, why wait?

On a local level, several important races to watch include the State Senator race where Senator Jeff Golden is challenged by Medford Mayor and former police chief Randy Sparacino. Another important choice voters will make in Jackson County lies in the challenge for County Commission Commissioner Position 1, where Commissioner Rick Dyer is being challenged by Denise Krause, a democrat. City council positions in Ashland, Medford, Talent, and Phoenix will all make significant changes to the current political tone and priorities, and even a handful of votes will likely determine close races.

As we mentioned last week, there’s an Oregon voter guide that has the support of unions and progressive voices that help make sense of what’s on your ballot.

To find results to the local elections, we recommend Ashland.news and Jefferson Public Radio’s Election Round Up 2022 At national level, check out Democracy Now’s three hour post-election coverage event, and for $10 you can dive into deep analysis with the editors of The Nation.
