MLK Day Celebration on the Plaza

You are invited to celebrate the teachings and spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at noon on Monday, January 16 at the Ashland Plaza.
Gospel music begins at 12:00pm.  From 1:00pm – 2:30pm you will hear from Dr. Doland, a former Freedom Rider, Dr. Craig who marched in Selma with Dr. King. and a panel of community leaders who will discuss Dr. King‘s book “Why we Can’t Wait”.  Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King wrote this book in the 60’s and it is still very relevant today.
The group will end the afternoon with Dr. King‘s I Have a Dream speech in his own words. With gospel music and fellowship to follow.

An hour of silence to focus on what brings Peace and Love into the world. Individually and collectively. Some have used the time to do art, play music, knit or even read.
