The OHSU Street Nursing Team will lead an interactive workshop on Volunteer Essentials. The focus will be on Trauma Informed approaches, empathetic listening, and avoiding the need for de-escalation. They will also cover what nursing services are available in the area for the unhoused community.
I am very excited to announce that we are offering this training for all our Volunteers at the Extreme Weather Shelter. Anyone else who volunteers with our unhoused community is also encouraged to attend.
