About 500 southern Oregonians and maybe some from northern California, too, gathered at Medford City Hall on Tuesday, March 4th to rally against the many draconian actions of the Trump Administration and the president’s appointed Department of Government Efficiency (DOSE) team. The local rally was in solidarity with rallies & marches nationwide proclaimed by a coalition group called #50501 (for 50 rallies in 50 capitals one movement). The local rally was dubbed March Against Monarchy.

One of the protesters counted each participant as they left city hall to march a few blocks east to Vogel Plaza. She reported counting 443 protesters and said she figured that a bunch of folks avoided the march by going directly to Vogel Plaza.

They carried homemade signs, including the ones shown in this photo and many more:

The national Indivisible group in coalition with #50501 has called for a major day of protest for Saturday, April 5th, which will include rallies and marches. The details of what will happen locally have not been released yet. It’s clear that a lot of folks in the Rogue Valley are not happy at all with what the Trump Administration actions cutting longstanding programs of the federal government to shreds.
