ASAP: Essential Equipment on its way!

The following is an update from Ashland-Sviatohirsk Sister City Aid Project (ASAP)

Ashland-Sviatohirsk Sister City Aid Project (ASAP) thanks everyone for their support in the procurement for a piece of essential equipment for our neighbors in Ukraine.

“We’d been discussing both the repair of the old truck and purchase of another used dump  truck, to enable Sviatohirsk to continue to move piles of rubble left from Russian bombing, shelling, and missile attacks. Sviatohirsk is no longer under direct attack, so cleanup and preparation for rebuilding are underway.

Another sister city project in Easton, CT can cover the cost of repairing the existing truck (app. $7,000).  As a result of fundraising through a benefit concert at Ashland High School in August and a benefit auction in December,  Ashland’s local Ashland-Sviatohirsk Sister City Aid Project (ASAP)  has provided $23,000 to Ukraine Aid International to purchase a used dump truck. It’s important to get something of real utility in their hands immediately. The truck is on its way!”
