Ballot Measures
Anti Worker Ballot Initiatives
If we want to defend working families and keep winning victories for everyday Oregonians, we need to stand together against corporate interests and the wealthy.
  • IP 62: interferes with an employer’s right to negotiate with employees and allows some employees to receive all the benefits of being in a union without having to share in the costs of supporting that union. It also gives non-members privileges over the union, such as electing leaders, holding office or ratifying contracts.
  • IP 69: requires employers to discriminate between union and non-union employees when it comes to determining employee pay and benefits. This would create two classes of workers and lead to a race to the bottom for working people, giving us all lower pay, fewer benefits and less workplace safety.

Anti-immigrant Ballot Initiatives
Just two years ago, immigrants living in Oregon had a basic dignity (that a lot of us take for granted) taken away.
  • IP 52: Mandatory E-Verify, requires every Oregon business to run each current and future employee through the flawed E-Verify program, or risk losing their business license.
  • IP 40: English-Only, all government information and documents – including those at schools – would only be published in English. No government job could require applicants to be competent in a language other than English.
  • IP 51: Restricting Voting Rights, cancels every Oregonian’s voter registration until they can re-prove to the county clerk that they are Oregon citizens.
