Ceasefire Deal to be Ratified by Israel Today

A long-awaited agreement by Israel and the rest of the world will likely be ratified today, following lengthy negotiations with the Biden administration, and now, President Elect Donald Trump. The cease fire deal, as it’s called, will include three phases, including a 47 day pause in fighting from both Hamas and Israel, long-needed humanitarian assistance for the millions of Palestinaians forcibly displaced from their homes, and the exchange of hostages between warring parties.

Meanwhile, on the eve of the ceasefire being resolved, Israel killed more than 80 people in 24 hours during targeted attacks. This includes a site where an Israeli soldier, up for exchange with some of the children imprisoned by Israel, may have been killed. Stories continue to unfold in the uncertainty after 475 days of a lop-sided, US supplied, brutal war that has killed far more than 47,000 Palestinians during this most recent wave of brutality in occupation.

As Trump comes into office this next Monday, many people who cry for peace continue to feel baffled by Democratic allegiance to Israel under Netanyahu, including the most recent approval of more than $8 Billion in new, advanced weapons for their ongoing wars.

Trump has demanded that before he be given the crown of leadership in the US, that there shall be a ceasefire in Gaza, similar to former President Reagan’s promise to return the hostages from Iran in the 1980s.

Note: Is it an ironic coincidence or prophetic timing that, like on the eve of Jimmy Carter’s departure from the Oval Office that the historic deal to release hostages in Iran only after President Reagan was inaugurated? Similarly, Trump will likely take credit for the Ceasefire Deal in Gaza.
