We look forward to seeing our neighbors come together in support of much-needed food programs that help fill the gap for hungry people in the Rogue Valley this Friday. Our annual Empty Bowls event will include a choice of six delicious soups donated from area restaurants and bread from local bakeries. The event will take place at Wesley Hall at Ashland’s United Methodist Church from 4:30-7:00 p.m. Friday.
As is the tradition, ticket holders will have the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of hand-crafted ceramic bowls and be served a simple dinner of soup, bread, and cookies from local dignitaries. The leaders serving bowls this year include leadership from Oregon Shakespeare Festival, elected officials, and leading business owners who support fighting hunger in our community.
We made it easy and secure to purchase a ticket online and there will be more available at the door. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for students, children under 12 can attend for free. We open the doors at 4:30 p.m. for an early supper and to continue the tradition for those who prefer to come early to choose from the widest selection of hand thrown bowls and pottery.
We sincerely thank all of the businesses, artists and individual sponsors of this year’s event, without whom this event would not be possible. More details on the “celebrity servers,” restaurants and bakeries involved are available at Ashland.news.
