Join Vesper Meadow and The Beaver Coalition to ‘behave like beavers’ and implement our biggest single push for Latgawa Creek restoration yet. Four years in the making, this is the culmination of much research, monitoring, and preparation – and we believe it will be a huge turning point for restoring the hydrologic system, wildlife habitat, and the native plant ecosystem.
Join in the teamwork and the collaboration
We need your help making human-created beaver-based structures in the creek with small woody debris, removing invasive plants, willow staking, and planting native shrubs. We’ll be working together, learning about Low-tech Process-Based Restoration strategies, and enjoying the early fall in the meadow. This work requires walking in the meadow on uneven surfaces, bending, carrying 5-25 pounds (moderate – heavy effort).
We’ll be in the field for 4-5 days (or until it’s done!) and hope you can join us as any point – for a morning or afternoon session, or two!
We’ll supply the snacks, drinks, tools, and good cheer. Bring work gloves, water bottle, and shovel if you have one.
