Big Ideas: Update on Oregon’s Revised Drug Law Measure 110

4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
September 3

Ashland Library

In November 2020, Oregon voters overwhelmingly passed Ballot Measure 110, which reclassified possession/penalties for specified drugs including heroin, methamphetamine and others.

This year the measure was significantly amended by Oregon House Bill 4002, which repealed the drug decriminalization portion in response to public backlash.

Rep. Pam Marsh, Oregon House of Representatives, District 5; and Kerri Hecox, M.D., MPH, Medical Director and founder of the Oasis Center of the Rogue Valley in Medford, will discuss exactly what happened with Measure 110, the changes brought about by HB 4002, and new the deflection programs in place. Plus, they will cover what 110 funded in the Rogue Valley and the ongoing gaps, barriers and needs in our addiction system.

Part of the “Big Ideas” series, this program is presented by the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Ashland Branch and Jackson County Library Services.
