Climate Action in Oregon – Updates

The 2021 Oregon legislative session is well underway. By the end of April, we will be able to see which proposals are moving forward and which are being thwarted or modified.  Meanwhile, agency efforts to develop the Oregon Climate Action Plan (OCAP) resulting from Governor Brown’s March 2020 Executive Order 20-04 are underway and have been afforded a mid-course evaluation by the coalition.

The April SOCAN General Meeting will be dedicated to a summary of Oregon legislative and OCAP updates.  If their legislative schedules permit, Representative Pam Marsh and Senator Jeff Golden have agreed to join to offer their perspective from their respective chambers and committees.

SOCAN meets monthly on the last Tuesday via Zoom with speakers on Topics related to climate change.
These meetings are free and open to the public

Submitted by SOCAN Elections always have consequences. This is especially the case for our potential to address the climate crisis when some candidates for office accept the science of global warming and it climate change consequences while others display something between skepticism and outright rejection of science.
