Film Screening: The Seeds of Peace

A survivor of the Hiroshima atomic bomb confronts her trauma and gathers seeds of trees that survived the blast, planting symbols of hope, healing and remembrance in towns across Oregon 80 years later. Featuring local resident Hideko Tamura Snider.

Director David-Paul B. Hedberg will attend and host a post-film Q&A and community discussion about the making of the film, the Oregon Hiroshima Peace Tree Project, and the role of public history in peace-building and remembrance.

Viewer discretion advised: The film discusses the atomic bomb and shows historical images and footage that may be disturbing to some viewers.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Film begins at 7:00 and runs just over an hour.

Free parking in designated SOU lots.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for kids, with special pricing for families buying four or more tickets. Available at the door and online.
