Frank Romano to Speak at Bloomsbury Books

Frank Romano, who was released from jail in Jerusalem in 2018 and deported for his activist work, will speak in Ashland Monday, Nov. 14, from 7-8 pm at Bloomsbury Books in Ashland.

The author will give a free signed copy of his book to the first five people who arrive to the event.

Love and Terror in the Middle East, 5th Ed. dramatically captures the author’s efforts to promote understanding and cooperation between Jews, Muslims and Christians in Palestine and Israel.

This 5th Edition includes a new chapter (Epilogue 1) about his recent experiences, in September 2018, trying to defend a Bedouin village “Khan al-Ahmar” in the West Bank. To prevent its destruction by Israeli forces, he and other activists stepped in front of a bulldozer. He was subsequently arrested, imprisoned in Jerusalem and then deported to France.

Romano, born in Oregon, is an actor, a retired professor at the University of Paris and a member of the California and French Bars.

Free Food and other Refreshments provided by Food Angels.

On Inauguration Day, January 20th, people will come together throughout the country to demand a future that centers the needs of the people over the interests of the wealthy elite. With voices raised for workers’ rights, immigrant rights, and environmental justice, we will call for an end to the genocide in Gaza, the U.S. war machine, and the rule of billionaires.   https://www.codepink.org/j2025
