Hiroshima & Nagasaki: Vigil of Remembrance & Recommitment

On August 6 in Ashland, people will gather at 8 a.m. at the entrance to Lithia Park in an annual vigil event  in remembrance of the victims of the US nuclear attack on Hiroshima on the same day in 1945. The event will include remarks from Rev. Fred Grewe, Dr. Hideko Tamura Snider, Hiroshima survivor, and Dr. Herbert Rothschild. We will also conduct the lighting of Memorial Flame and the sounding of the gong at 8:15 a.m., followed by a moment of silence, music, and a sacred water ceremony.
