What can we learn from the long history/herstory of LGBTQ+ community-building in southern Oregon?

What are the role of LGBTQ+ people in the work of movements for collective liberation? And what is particular to LGBTQ+ experiences and identities in southern Oregon that might differ from big cities or other places?

Join this conversation with panelists Daniel Frontino Elash, Robert Kentta (Shasta, Dakubetede (Applegate River Athabaskan)), Gina DuQuenne, and Delaine Due to hear stories about the incredible history of LGBTQ+ community and organizing in southern Oregon, from the women’s land movement to the radical faeries to Two-Spirit history and presence and, more recently, Southern Oregon Pride and Lotus Rising Project.

The first-of-its-kind celebration will begin at 3 pm at the Southern Oregon University Music Recital Hall, 450 S. Mountain Ave., Ashland. No tickets or reservations are needed, and parking is free. The event will include renditions of holiday favorites by the choir; audience sing-alongs to familiar carols; small gifts for all children who attend; and a special appearance by Santa Claus.
