Each run begins and ends at the Mt. Ashland Lodge, at an altitude of 6500 feet. From there the courses meander along the Pacific Crest Trail with breathtaking views of Mt. Shasta, Mt McLaughlin, and the Siskiyou and Cascade mountain ranges. The total course elevation for the 50K is about 4200 feet. The 50 mile features about 8400 feet of climbing and the 100K a whopping ~10,500 feet. Please note, the 100K is not easy as our finish rate of just over 50% in 2021 will attest. Many of our runners classify it as “challenging”. Should you finish, a 100 miler is well within your grasp.
Bonus: our ultramarathon distances are all UTMB qualifiers! The 100K is worth 4 points, the 50M is worth 3 points and the 50K is worth 2 points. Additionally, the 100K distance is a Western States 100-mile Endurance Run qualifier.
