Siskiyou Singers and Mark Reppert Music Director present the 40th anniversary celebration concert, with full orchestra.
Performances of “Very Merry Mozart” will be at SOU’s Music Recital Hall in Ashland on Friday, Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 10 and 11, at 3:00 p.m. General admission is $20 ($5 for students and Oregon Trail Card holders). Tickets are available from choir members and online.
Join the Siskiyou Singers as they celebrate their 40th anniversary with two works by Mozart: Coronation Mass, a piece full of sprightly themes and joyous melodies, and Regina Coeli, a delicious filigreed pastry praising the “Queen of Heaven.”
The concert’s second half will feature a variety of holiday favorites, including Jason Robert Brown’s ecstatic Chanukah Suite; a jazz interpretation of It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year; and a shimmering version of Silent Night, arranged by Mathew Culloton. As is its tradition, the choir will conclude the concert with John Rutter’s rollicking take on We Wish You A Merry Christmas..
