SOCAN: The Impact of Climate Change on Species of Concern.

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
August 31

Species across the planet are adapted to the climate where they live. A climate shift of just a few degrees, or inches of rainfall, can render current locations uninhabitable to many species. The consequences will be one of adaptation to changing conditions, range shift, or extinction. Our native plants and animals are all at risk as climate change continues uncontrolled.

The Southern Oregon Climate Action Now August 2021 monthly program will be devoted to a discussion of regional species of plants and animals that are threatened by our changing climate. Offered as a ZOOM program, the presentations will be held on Tuesday August 27th from 6:00 – 7:00 pm.

The program is free, but the link to registration is on the August 27th listing at https://socan.eco/events/.

Presenters for ‘The impact of climate change on species of concern’ will be Michael Parker from the Biology Department at Southern Oregon University, and John Villella, from Siskiyou BioSurvey LLC, Eagle Point.
