Stand With Ukraine Rally

Oregon District 2 Indivisible, the Rogue Valley Chapter of Veterans for Peace and Peace House invite you to attend a rally to Stand With Ukraine on Wednesday, March 2, at Vogel Plaza in Medford.

Participants are asked to wear blue and yellow in honor of Ukraine’s flag, and to bring signs, sunflowers, and donations to benefit Doctors Without Borders, which is providing aid to people injured and displaced by the conflict.

Why Gather?

– Putin’s attack on Ukraine is an act of war that has inspired a worldwide response. It is important to show that the people of Southern Oregon support the independence of Ukraine and condemn the invasion of an independent nation.
– This is an international crisis and should not be a partisan issue.
– We are not happy with statements by Trump and GOP leaders who have praised Putin and tried to distract their followers’ attention by blaming the current administration.
– We are particularly unhappy with our congressman, Rep. Cliff Bentz, who – a week after the attack – has remained silent on this issue. We will use this rally to ask him to make a public statement.

The groups invite everyone to come out and show their support for peace and the people of Ukraine on this evening.

Submitted by SOCAN Elections always have consequences. This is especially the case for our potential to address the climate crisis when some candidates for office accept the science of global warming and it climate change consequences while others display something between skepticism and outright rejection of science. From the local to the national level the outcomes from the 2024 general election will indicate profoundly whether meaningful action is likely. The Southern Oregon Climate Action Now November General Meeting will focus…
