ORD2 Indivisible got started just before Trump’s first inauguration in January 2017 when the co-founders of national Indivisible, Ezra Levin, Leah Greenberg, and others published a 23-page handbook, Indivisible: A Practical Guide for Resisting the Trump Agenda, in December 2016. Their main idea was to keep constant pressure on members of Congress, both the House and Senate, notably by targeting Republican elected members of Congress by attending town halls, calling congressional officials, visiting their offices, and showing up at public events.
The local group, called ORD2 for short, got organized under the initial leadership of actor/director Jessica Sage and musician Bret Levick. They held two well-attended workshops that attracted more than 400 people to join the resistance movement.
Throughout Trump’s first presidential term, ORD2 kept up the pressure on then 2nd District Congressman Greg Walden with current co-leaders Terrie Martin and Teresa Safay taking over at some point.

After President Joe Biden defeated Trump in the 2020 election and performed well in the first two years of his term with Democrats in control of both houses of Congress, ORD2 and other Indivisible groups shrank in terms of members and participants in its rallies and other endeavors. Yet, Terrie and Teresa managed to keep it alive.
Now that Trump is back in office and is wreaking havoc in all directions, ORD2 is back in action again in a big way. About 250 people attended its second general meeting of 2025 last week at the Medford Library.
Terrie Martin likes to take credit for Greg Walden’s retirement four years ago and she has ORD2 members constantly calling the offices of Walden’s successor, Rep. Cliff Bentz, Republican of Ontario. She describes Bentz as a “back-bencher” who has no agenda of his own except to follow the MAGA line.
ORD2 has now created six different teams that members can join to accomplish a wider set of goals because in the new Trump world, Congress is taking the back seat to Trump, who is expanding presidential power at a great rate. To learn about the teams and keep abreast of what ORD2 is doing, go to its website here. To receive Terrie Martin’s excellent weekly ORD2 newsletter or to ask questions about the organization send an email to: ord2indivisible@gmail.com. You’ll have to answer some simple questions to prove you are not a bot or a MAGA person. The next general meeting will be from 2 to 4 pm Sunday, March 16th, at the Medford Central Library, 205 N. Central Ave.
