Colombia is not a US military base! Sign petition to president of Colombia to not assist U.S. with military operations against Venezuela.

Currently, there are as many as 15,000 transgender service members in the U.S. military and 134,000 veterans. Transgender people have served honorably in Iraq, Afghanistan, and in countless other conflicts.

But now the Supreme Court has revived Trump’s ban on transgender servicemembers by lifting an injunction against enforcement of the ban. We’re calling on the Supreme Court to correct this awful decision by striking down the ban NOW.

Will you sign the petition and then keep it growing by sharing it with your friends and family?

The 5-4 decision was a huge win for anti-transgender bigots—and the canary in the coal mine for progressive policies. It’s clear that this court will have no shame in striking down any law or policy that contradicts their far-right partisan view.

The Supreme Court has been hijacked by the far right wing. Four of the justices were nominated by presidents who lost the popular vote. Two have been credibly accused of sexual misconduct. One effectively stole his seat from Barack Obama’s appointee.

That’s why Pack the Courts is fighting to take back the Supreme Court for the American people, and we’re counting on your help. It’s up to us to rise up and fight back against the Supreme Court’s assault on transgender rights–and all our rights. Are you in?

Click here to sign the petition urging the Supreme Court to stop Trump’s ban on transgender military service.

Child Labor 12/13/18:

Sign the petition to Tell America’s top 100 retail brands to fight child labor: To whom it may concern: https://priceoffree.com/take-action/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=participantmedia

Child labor is often hidden – from consumers and even from brands themselves. From cotton to coffee beans, bracelets to bananas, children as young as five help make the stuff you buy and use every day.
Companies and industries have the power to change this.

Complete the form above to ask the top 100 U.S. retailers how they’re working to ensure their products are child labor-free – and urge them to be leaders in the fight to free every child. The more messages companies receive, the more they will feel consumer pressure to strengthen their policies and practices to protect children from child labor.
I am inspired by Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi’s mission to end child labor. Like Kailash, I want to live in a world where all children are free to be children.

As a consumer, I commit to buying brands that are doing everything possible to eliminate child labor in supply chains. And I’m counting on you — as one of the biggest retailers in the United States — to help as well.

Please tell me how you ensure the goods you sell are child labor free. I know that no one company can solve this issue alone. Citizens, governments, and businesses must all work together.

Child labor is a complex problem, but it’s one that we can solve. I’ve made a commitment to stand up for the world’s children and I hope you will too.

Child Separation 12/13/18

Please sign the petition provided by the Anthropologists Action Network for Immigrants and Refugees that demands Congress order the closing of the Tornillo, TX, detention camp where several thousand immigrant children are currently detained, separated from their parents.

It also demands that Congress take specific steps — outlined in the petition — to remedy this situation in a humane and legal manner.

Members of Congress, wanting to pass legislation to this, need your help to demonstrate public support to strengthen their hand in passing such legislation in Congress.

Please read more here and sign.  Thank you.

Petition by Senator Jeff Merkley:

Honduras

9/18/18: Peace House is watching carefully the escalating repression underway in Honduras with grave concern for those in the Human Rights community who are being targeted and terrorized. The recent execution of  three students who were part of a demonstration against the government are a huge shock.  More information at https://peacehouse.net/canadian-jesuits-international-shares-concerns-about-padre-melo-and-radio-progreso-staff/

We are grateful to Senator Merkeley for keeping an awareness of these violations of human rights in the public eye of Washington, DC.

Peace House is asking that our community members write to thank Senator Merkley for keeping the concerns of the Honduran people in his sights as he advocates for their human rights and freedom of speech under an increasingly repressive government.
Please send your letters of concern and appreciation for Senator Merkley to info@peacehouse.net and we will send them to his office. This is time sensitive, so please send your letters to us as soon as possible. We will present them as a series of requests to Senator Merkley’s office.  More information at https://peacehouse.net/thank-senator-merkley-for-advocating-for-the-honduran-people/
