Why Vote by Mail is Important
Vote by mail, also known as vote at home or absentee voting, gives people the option to vote without the stress of finding childcare, taking time off work… or worrying about a global pandemic. In this and every election, it’s integral that everybody has the chance to participate — that’s why we need to pass this bill requiring all states to allow voters to request absentee ballots when a widespread emergency would make voting in person unsafe.
Instead of going to the polls on Election Day, you’ll receive your ballot by mail beforehand. States offer different options for returning a mail ballot, so be sure to review your alternatives, but in many places you can mail it back or drop it off at a secure location.
