Where Olive Trees Weep: Screening of New Film June 20 in Ashland

Submitted by Jewish Voice for Peace Rogue Valley

We invite you to join Jewish Voice for Peace on Thursday evening,June 20th, at 7:30, for a showing of the film “Where Olive Trees Weep.” The film will be screened at the First Presbyterian Church, at the corner of Siskiyou Blvd. and Walker Avenue in Ashland.

Our purpose in showing the film is to highlight the trauma and suffering that the Israeli Occupation has caused the Palestinian people for the past 75 years. The daily brutality of the occupation does not make headlines. We hear everyday about the 200 hostages taken by Hamas on October 7th, yet we rarely hear about the thousands of Palestinians held hostage in Israeli military prisons. We hear so often about the 1200 people killed by Hamas on October 7th, yet, before October 7th, we rarely heard about the people in the West Bank who were being killed and wounded every day of the year by the Israeli military.

The film also shows the incredible strength and resiliency of the Palestinian people, and the many ways they resist the occupation and fight for their freedom.

May it inspire us to continue in our efforts to Stop the Bombing, End all military aid to Israel, and Support a future in which ALL the inhabitants of Palestine/Israel are free from the River to the Sea.

We will ask a donation at the door, but all are welcome. Also, you will be given an opportunity to donate directly to the Palestine Children’s Fund as your donation for sing the film.
