This Saturday Ashland residents will join thousands around the globe in commemorating World Labyrinth day at Trinity Garden Outdoor Labyrinth. At the top of each hour between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. a gong will sound, and participants will be welcomed by faith leaders Rev. Daniel Green and Sarah Hopkins, lead Labyrinth Facilitator, and Elizabeth Austin assistant Labyrinth Facilitator.
“In this time of war and destruction we often ask ourselves ‘What can we do?’ One of the actions we can take is joining with friends and neighbors with a single intention to create a rolling wave of peaceful energy, said Sara Hopkins, the convener of the event. “It is a positive step forward taken in love. Come with us on this journey and walk.”
World Labyrinth Day is an international event held on the first Saturday each May, sponsored by The Labyrinth Society in collaboration with partner organizations including the Australian Labyrinth Network, Legacy Labyrinth Project, and Veriditas.
Ashland World Labyrinth Day is sponsored by the Trinity Episcopal Church and cosponsored by United Methodist Church, Anima Mundi Productions, Ashland United Methodist Church, Peace House and Peace Village Festival.
The event is free, nondenominational, and no registration is required. Event organizers request that children under 12 be accompanied by an adult.
